Smite is building a new apartment building on top of an existing building in Melbourne’s CBD.
The $2 billion project is the biggest project in Melbourne history, with plans to house up to 10,000 people.
The site is in the heart of the CBD, just north of the Princes Highway and west of the city’s central business district.
Smite said building 7 is the first in its history to be built on the site of a former residential building, adding that it is the most environmentally-friendly building ever built in Melbourne.
Building 7 will be the largest residential building ever constructed in Melbourne, with up to 1,500 residents, according to Smite.
The building will have a total of 18 floors.
“The building will be a high-density residential building with a total floor area of approximately 18,000 square metres,” Smite CEO Paul O’Connell said.
Building 7 is expected to be finished in 2018. “
It will also have an extensive underground storage system that will help protect the building against fire and earthquakes.”
Building 7 is expected to be finished in 2018.
The construction of the building is part of a wider redevelopment plan for the area.
Smites partner with the city of Melbourne to redevelop the Prince Highway, a stretch of Princes Road, that will be redeveloped to create a residential, commercial and retail precinct.
Construction of the project is expected for 2021.
